YOU’RE NOT USELESS...YOU’VE GOT A PURPOSE

Do you feel like you have no direction or reason for being alive? Or do people say you are useless and would never become anything meaningful in life and you now feel that way?

Let me clear this feeling or perception by asking this question; “Does a manufacturer produce a good without a reason or purpose for that good?” NO!!!!!!
A manufacturer does not produce a good and then define its purpose; the purpose of a good is declared or defined first before the good is produced.

Same thing applies to us. Before a child is born, before God creates and forms a baby, God declares a purpose and destiny for that child. Every child born into the world is either born to solve an existing problem or in anticipation for a problem. (Romans 8:29).
God does not plan to bring anyone to a useless end; for His plans for us are of good and to bring us all to an expected end. (Jeremiah 29:11). A fulfilled end.
Nobody on earth is purposeless or without a destiny to fulfil. It may seem so only if the person has not discovered his or her purpose.

Your mistakes or failures in life cannot cancel or terminate your destiny and God’s purpose for you.
This goes out to the parents and everyone intending to become a parent. No child brought to the world through you is useless or a mistake. Some parents maltreat their kids either because the child was not the sex they wanted or because the child “was a mistake or not planned for”. Nothing takes God unawares, if the child is not meant to come into the world at that time then it would not happen. In most cases, we observe that these kids that are treated this way turn out to be stars of their families. Every child is special and has a unique destiny. As parents, you need to support and not discourage your kids.

Sometimes, during the pregnancy stage of a woman, the devil would try to bring about the termination of the baby with different forms of attacks or after childbirth, there would be different attacks against the family or the child. Please, do not see this baby as “devil-sent” as people tag it; the devil attacks children he knows would be great in life, which would be stars, so he wants to destroy the seed before it can yield the fruits.

Let me give examples of children whose destinies were defined before they were born in the bible:
  • Our Lord Jesus: “She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, BECAUSE HE WILL SAVE HIS PEOPLE FROM THEIR SINS” (Matthew 1:21, John 1:29).
  • Samson: “Because you will conceive and give birth to a son. No razor may be used on his head, because the boy is to be a Nazarite, set apart to God from birth, AND HE WILL BEGIN THE DELIVERANCE OF ISRAEL FROM THE HANDS OF THE PHILISTINE.” (Judges 13:2-5).
  • John the Baptist: “Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God. And he will go on before the Lord……….. to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.” (Luke 1:13-17).
  • Moses: Born to redeem the people of Israel from Egypt.
  • Esther: Born to deliver the Jews.
And a host of others.
You may say these are examples from the bible, let me give a well-known example of a great person who was once declared useless; Bill Gates and a host of them.

Some of us may ask how we can know our purpose or calling. Here are some hints or clues, though not 100% certain because God may have a different plan:
  • Passion: What you have great passion doing. Though, our passion may not actually be God’s purpose for us.
  • Pain: What causes you to grieve, what problem pains your heart and causes you to cry. This pain causes you to pray for empowerment to change the situation.
  • Provocation: This is divine provocation. E.g. Moses, he was provoked each time he saw people being oppressed. When he saw an Israelite being oppressed by an Egyptian, he got provoked and killed the Egyptian; when he saw some women being oppressed in Midian, he was provoked into action. His purpose was to deliver the Israelites from oppression.

Just bear in mind this “A manufacturer does not produce a good without first defining its purpose”
PRAYER
  1. Lord, help me to know the purpose for which I was created.
  2. Lord, please show me the me in me.

Remain blessed and I love you.
