BE SPECIFIC

Some years ago, a friend of mine wanted a laptop so she went to her dad and told him she needed a laptop for her school work. Her dad said he would get it for her when he has the money. Two months later, one evening her dad called her and said “I had some money with me earlier today, walked into a computer shop to get your laptop but then I didn’t know which to get, you did not give me any specification describing the type of laptop you wanted. I decided to leave the shop in order not to get what you wouldn’t like. Also,you did not give me a deadline so I decided we could get it some other time”. On hearing this, she gave him the specification and some days later, her dad came back with the laptop.

Most times, we pray and ask God for things but we are not usually specific on the exact thing we need and when we need it. For instance, you say to God “Lord, I need a job” but what type of Job do you want? Being a sales girl is a job too. Whenever you need something from God, tell Him exactly what you want, you could even give a deadline or time limit. If you are in need of a house, tell Him the type of house you want, “God, I want a six bedroom duplex with a gym, a garden, a swimming pool, a helicopter landing pad…..” Lol…

When you have an exact idea of what you want, it makes it easier and faster to get. Just like walking into a supermarket to get a bottle of wine without having any brand in mind, you would waste time thinking of the one to get but when you have one in mind, you just walk in and pick it up. A very good example I will use is a lady going to the hair salon to make her hair; if she does not have a particular style in mind, while she is still thinking of the style to make, the hair dresser of course would not leave other customers waiting, they would start up with people who already have a style in mind.

Have you heard, "Ask and you shall receive,"? But do you remember the part where you have to "Seek and you shall find."? After you've asked specifically, go ahead to "SEEK". Seek the information. Seek the prospects, job, relationship etc. To seek is to act. (Pastor Edwin Biayeibo)

Specificity works for both God and man. Tell Him exactly what you want and also when you want it.
