LOOKING FEAR IN THE FACE

Fear is something almost everyone battles with. Fear is actually a real feeling or emotion, so it is natural; it means to be terrified, to dread. But spiritually, fear means lack of trust or faith; this is the aspect God wants us to triumph over.

We face various types and sorts of fear; fear of being alone, fear of being cheated on, fear of lack, fear of losing a loved one, fear of dying, fear of taking up a new task or assignment, fear of commitment and a host of others. Living above fear is a gradual process, it is not an immediate occurrence; it is done step-by-step. This is because life comes at you in various forms. One day you wake up and everything’s fine, but the next day, you could have something hit you so hard that it literally floors you. Yet all of these things need to be surrendered to God, while He delivers you out of them one by one.

Some years ago, I was in this relationship that I feared its end; did not want to be left heartbroken or left alone and this made me do crazy things just to keep the relationship. This is actually what fear makes you do, it makes you do a lot of crazy and surprising things, it makes you take decisions or act in ways you are not meant to, just because you are avoiding your fear from unfolding or manifesting. But after applying what I will share with you, the relationship finally ended and I did not end with it, at least I posted this.. lol.. And I was like “Is this what I was scared of, is this why I did all those crazy things?”

Fear stagnates, it keeps you at a place because when you are scared of doing something or taking a step, you remain at that point, you do not go higher. The devil actually knows this and for this reason, he instills fear in us so we do not move forward into what God has planned for us.

It is time to “Look fear straight in the eyes and say u can’t keep me down anymore”.
It is time to start operating in Faith and be free from the torments of fear. Let us surrender all our fears and worries to God and talk to Him about everything and anything. In that relationship, I got so tired that I told God to take away the fear and end the relationship if that is His will because left to Kaycee, she doesn’t have the courage to end it.. And He stepped into the situation. Now I tell Him everything, I discuss my worries and fears with Him.
“The Bible tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We are more powerful than ever when we operate in faith vs. fear. We can accomplish much when we plow forward courageously, believing God over what the enemy or negative people say, or what our circumstances show us. Secondly, God has given us a spirit of love. If we love others, then we will go through hard things for them or with them. Jesus suffered and went through a very hard thing at Calvary for us, when He bled and died on the cross. And when we go through hard times or scary situations, He is with us. Amen! Thirdly, God gave us a sound mind. He has given us His peace. In the past, this part of the Scripture has really helped me to settle my mind, and meditate on God’s Word when fear has tried to grip me. It’s actually very comforting & freeing! (By courtnaye).”
When the disciples were in the boat with Jesus during the storm and they were afraid, He said to them “Why do you fear when I am with you?” You do not have to fear because God loves us so much and He said “He will never put His beloved to shame, He gives sleep to His beloved” (Psalm 127:2).

The fact here is to NOT allow fear stop you from doing anything. It’s all about trusting God, laying it all at his feet. When we have a new task, drop it at His feet. When we have to deal with unexpected hard trials, drop it at His feet. When we need things, but don’t have the means or the resources yet, drop it at His feet.

Let me shock some of us.. Fear is actually a sin, you are actually committing a sin when you fear.. I know some of our reactions will be “What is she talking about? It is natural to fear”. Let us read Joshua 1:9, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified [fear]; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go”. He commanded us, and when you disobey His law or commandment, isn’t that a sin? Fear just shows you do not trust Him but He has assured us saying for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Share your fears and worries with Him, let Him into that situation; talk to Him about it and trust me, He would step in.

Let us start overcoming fear, using these scriptures as support and tools 2 Timothy 1:7, Joshua 1:9, Isaiah 43: 2-3, 1 Peter 5:7, Psalm 55:22, Isaiah 41:10, Psalm 56: 3-4, Psalm 91:4-8, Psalm 34 4-7, Isaiah 51:12, Psalm 23:4, Mark 4:40. There are a host of others, these are just a few.

Remain blessed and I love you.
