Good morning lovely people!!! This post is more of a lesson
I picked from some stories in the book of Matthew. Especially chapters 14, 15
and 19 where we have the stories of the crowd following Jesus from one town or
place to another. There are diverse lessons that can be learnt from these
passages or different meanings to them but I picked a very important lesson and
would like to share it with us. We could read these chapters on our own.
When Jesus moved from place to place, a large crowd always
followed Him, comprising of those believing for a miracle, those that just
wanted to hear Him speak and I am sure those who wanted to lay their hands on
something to use against Him or gossip about were there too. At the end of it
all, Jesus always had compassion on these people and healed their sicknesses,
gave solutions to problems and also He fed them.
If you have problems you want solved, sicknesses to be
healed, whatever it is you want from Him; all you need to do is follow Jesus
faithfully and patiently. Yes, they followed Him physically at that time
because He was with them on earth but that has not changed. He is not
physically present but He is ever-present, He abides in us. He did not leave us
completely, he sent us the Holyspirit who is here and will be here till the end
of the world. The people walked long distances with Him on foot but at the end,
He looked at them with compassion and solved their problems as long as they
believed.
The people kept following Him because they knew He had the
key and solution, they believed they would get what they believed for and even
more; all they had to do was follow Him wherever He went. He has the key and
solution to your problems, just believe and follow.
You must not have a problem to keep following Him, the
people did not expect to be fed but they were. I am sure not all of them had an
illness to be cured of or expecting a miracle but they were fed both physically
and spiritually to the nourishment of body and soul.
You cannot walk with or follow Him, you cannot stay with Him
whole-heartedly without grumbling and He would leave you with your problems or
let you go empty-handed. He is a COMPASSIONATE GOD. At the right time, if you
are still there, if you are still following Him, if you are still hanging
around; He will attend to your needs.
Do not give up dear. The fact you have not gotten that you
want is not because He is not hearing you or because He does not want to answer
you; He could be testing your faith, to know how long you would hold on. Just
keep following Him and at His appointed time, you will get it.
Remain blessed and I love you.
